Courage under Pressure

Wait for the Lordbe strong and courageous. Wait for the Lord. Psalm 27:14

If you have lived any amount of time of this earth, you will find out that life is hard. There are hard moments. Dark times. Challenging and confusing situations. Chaos and struggle. While there is brokenness around us, it will not be that way forever. One day, Jesus will come and make everything right. We have that hope and assurance. The Scriptures tells us so and I believe it.

So what do we do in the meantime? How do we live this life in the midst of the hard? We turn to God's Word that gives us hope and encouragement. In Psalm 27, David exhorts us to wait for the Lord. And as we wait for the Lord to answer, to rescue, to deliver, we are also told to be strong and courageous. We dig deep and we choose to be strong and courageous as we wait.

Friend, it takes immense strength and courage to keep showing up when things are hard and it's seemingly easier to bail. It takes an incredible amount of faith and resolve to keep moving forward when it's easier to resign and camp out where we are. And in those moments when it doesn't feel fruitful or productive, resist to temptation to give up because "what's the point."  Keep going. While it may feel small or insignificant, your determination and perseverance in faith is doing something deeper within each of us. God is strengthening our inner core. He is fortifying us in Him. So take heart and keep waiting for the Lord. While we may not fully understand his timing or ways, we are confident of this because of God's character, "I will see the Lord’s goodness in the land of the living." (Psalm 27:13)

He is our Father. He will come for us. So we wait for Him with strength and courage.
